I guess we define ourselves mostly by what we have done in our lives -- schooling, jobs, family, etc. One thing I would add is that even though I was a "preacher's kid," I didn't take my faith too seriously until I graduated from high school and moved out on my own. While attending art school I met some Christians whose faith was very important to them, and they challenged me to examine my own faith. I did so, and before long I actively engaged in a variety of Christian activities. God called me into the ministry, and I've never regretted following that call.

My senior is a wonderful memory for me. I was president of the Art Club. We were a very active club going to galleries and museums in the bay area every week. Our art teacher, Mr. Henry Fink, was in poor health that year and because I had completed all his courses, I was asked to substitute teach for him on a regular basis. Thus, I became known to the art students as "Mr. Turner." After graduation I attended Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida. From there, I attended Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada, graduating in 1976. I married Sandy Cubberley from Boca Ciega HIgh School between my sophomore and junior years at college. My family and I went back to Canada for me to work on my Master's degree in 1993. Our oldest son stayed in Canada and has a nice Canadian family there.

NEHI was the only high school I completed from beginning to end. We moved a lot when I was a kid.

I attended one year at Meadowlawn Junior High in St. Pete. Before that, I went to school in Texas.

Several schools in Texas, such as Houston, Floydada and Lampasas.

I didn't! A decision my parents regretted when I was in the first grade.

After high school I attended Ringling School of Art in Sarasota for one year. Then I attended Prairie Bible College in Alberta, Canada. I met and married Sandy Cubberley, Boca Ciega Class of 1972, in 1973. We've been happily married ever since. After graduating from college on 1976, I worked in various ministries and secular jobs until 1993, when I went to seminary to work on my Master of Divinity degree. In 1998 I began serving as pastor of various churches in Texas, New Mexico and Washington. I am generally in good health in spite repeated nose cancer.
